WhatsApp is set for an exciting update with the potential addition of a new ‘voice chat’ mode for Meta AI, according to a recent report by WABetainfo. This upcoming feature, spotted in the WhatsApp beta for Android update 2.24.18.18, promises to enhance interactions with the AI chatbot by allowing voice commands for more natural and efficient conversations.
The voice chat mode will enable real-time voice interactions with Meta AI, making communication faster and more intuitive. Users will be able to converse with the AI using voice commands, and Meta AI will respond in a voice that can be customized to individual preferences. Additionally, a new shortcut is being tested, allowing users to quickly access the voice chat mode by pressing a floating action button in the chat list.
For users who prefer manual control, the voice chat mode can be activated or deactivated at any time, with the AI continuously listening until the user leaves the chat or switches to text mode. A visual indicator will show when the voice chat mode is active, disappearing when it is turned off.
